Motown Philly's Back Again!

14 years ago I danced my first slow song with a boy to "On Bended Knee" by Boyz II Men.  They were huge then... HUGE!  I knew all the words to most all of their songs, but I probably haven't heard any of their music in 10 years.  Friday night Kyle, Owen and I got to see Boyz II Men in concert at State!!!  Oh my gosh, let me just tell you, I was a squeely little thirteen year old all over again!!  Owen was such a trooper (and so was Kyle) to appease me.

It completely took me back.  I knew all the words.  I was in seventh grade again for those five minutes with my hair in french braids, my biker shorts with my oversized purple t-shirt.  I built forts in the back yard, jumped on the trampoline and carried my violin up three flights of stairs to my first period class.  I had scrunchiis to match every outfit and I cheered for the Great Bridge Cardinals.

For those five minutes I was back there.

Music has that ability.

I love that you had scrunchies to match every shirt. Did you have the shirt cincher ring on the side too? I could see one working well on you. :)

Water runs dry was my personal favorite. Do you remember the episode on Fresh Prince when they made a guest appearance? The highlight of starting 6th grade for me was the scrunchy I got that perfectly matched my new shirt (which of course I wore with my cool white jean shorts that rolled up to reveal a cool flower print cuff).

lol - just your description of it takes me back there! i think my fave was "end of the road" - always the last dance song at middle school dances. although clint beaver used to quote water runs dry to me when we were dating... "we don't even talk anymore. kim, we don't even know what we argue about..." hilarious.

Kim, that's hilarious! Katie, I had those jeans... I loved those. Good times, good times!! Nat, sadly I wasn't cool enough for the cincher ring. Thanks for thinking so highly of me though! Blair, I'll call you when Backstreet gets back together... we're there!
