We did visit the beach for a little bit while we were on the Island. I thought this picture summed it up nicely... going to the beach now requires much more gear than it used to.
Here's Owen's first look at the ocean at South Beach. I love Kyle looking at him rather than the waves. Can you even imagine seeing the ocean for the first time? We see everything in a new way through Owen's eyes now.

sarah you have a baby! i just can't believe how much has changed and that we met 8 years ago. that is really crazy.
derek and i are doing pretty well. its been a really hard year and i am in transition now, looking for a job. yuck. but we love living in asheville and love being married.
