Our family spent the Labor Day weekend at one of our most favorite places... Washington, DC!!

We stayed in Georgetown and spent the weekend site seeing, checking out one of the DC churches we would like to emulate for the new church plant (I don't think I've mentioned that Providence is starting a new church and Kyle's dad will be the head pastor! We will be meeting at Broughton High School in January.), and going to an Oriole game at the beautiful Camden Yards!
It was Owen and my first time at a professional baseball game and boy was I spoiled! A huge special thanks to "Uncle" Traynor and Brian Roberts (showing off his switch-hitting skills in the picture below) for the seats directly behind home plate!

This was the view from our seats...wow!!
Orioles, you have a new fan!
And yes, we won!

One night Kyle and I did a little shopping in Georgetown. They have a Vineyard Vines store with more ties than I've probably seen in a life time. This is the college section with, lo and behold, a beautiful little gem sitting right there just waiting for me to see it! Poor Kyle, NC State was not represented at all, but UNC had four different designs in beautiful Carolina Blue! (I should move on before half of you stop reading and start looking up the number for Vineyard Vines customer service!)

Big O took his first ride on the Metro, or as we called it, "Thomas the Train."

The National Symphony Orchestra put on a free concert on the lawn of the Capital Building.

On Monday we spent 4 hours at the Newseum, the newest museum in DC. It was awesome, and Owen loved the 4-D movie (the chairs moved too!) Kyle and I decided we'll have to go back to explore again together without the little man though. Owen didn't appreciate the pace at which we like to comb through museums.

We'll be back DC!

Silly girl, ALL the Wolfpack ties were sold! So. . . what explains the high volume of Tar ties? No buyers. :(
