4th of July... just a teensy bit late!

For the 4th this year we had two celebrations: the lake and the club!

Owen caught his very first fish while we were at the lake... a 9 inch catfish! None of us were quite sure how he did it since the tip of the rod was pretty far underwater, but sure enough he got a bite and said, "What is that!?"
Uncle Scott helped pull out the hook.
As usual, we did lots of swimming...
Enough to make the little man's diaper look like this!
Uncle Scott taught Owen about fireworks. O was so brave, he even snapped one of those poppers in his fingers!
We found out that the Town of Mooresville had a little fair, so we thought we would go by and check it out. Little? There were more than 5,000 people there and all kinds of crazy things to check out...
A kangaroo! Right after I took this picture the kangaroo rolled over in front of Owen to get a good pet.
And a camel, who also seemed to like Owen.
Daddy Mac's birthday is on the 4th of July, so he invited the whole family to join him at Forsyth Country Club this year.
The Club put on a huge shindig and 'confidence' was Owen's theme. He went on a pony ride without any help from us at all!
He scaled the heights to go down this massive slide all by himself! There was also a blow-up obstacle course. Owen went on it so many times that the guy supervising it knew him by name!
Then to top it all off we watched the fireworks together as a family.
Hope you had a great 4th with your family too!
